About the artist

Eden is a British-born contemporary artist whose work celebrates the beauty, strength and resilience of women - particularly women of colour. Through vibrant, empowering portraiture, she seeks to amplify the presence of Black women in spaces where they have long been underrepresented, especially within the global art world.

“My motivation is simple: I want to empower women from my culture. Representation matters.”

Having grown up with few visible role models in the art world, Eden didn’t always see a space for herself in it. But today, she stands as part of a growing movement of artists challenging those norms. Her work is both personal and political—a celebration of identity, culture, and visibility.

The statistics speak for themselves. A recent study found that Black women account for just 0.5% of acquisitions across 31 major U.S. art museums. With over 40 million Black women in the United States, compared to only 2 million in the UK, it’s likely that British institutions reflect even lower representation. Eden’s mission is to help shift that narrative - placing her work in galleries and homes around the world and inspiring a new generation to view art not just as a passion but as a powerful and viable career path.

“It brings me immense joy when women from my background connect with my work. Seeing themselves represented on canvas—why wouldn’t I want to do that?”

Today, Eden is immersed in her creative journey, committed to growing her practice and sharing her gift with the world. She believes in the power of representation, the importance of pushing boundaries, and the need to build a more inclusive future for all artists.

“The art world may still be a male-dominated space—but I’m here, and I’m proud to take up space in it.”
